The designers have taken a long hard look at modern curtain designs to bring style and colour into the 21st century. Modern living requires curtains which are easy to maintain, incorporate the latest in-trend colours and above all look elegant an stylish in different interior room designs.
Eye-let curtains have become very popular. They are so easy to hang, it’s quite literally just a matter of using either a metal or wooden curtain pole and sliding them on.!
This style of curtain is easy to draw across at night and swish back in the mornings! They can be drawn back in their entirety or swept back and held in place with coordinating or contrasting tie-backs. One of the great advantage of using them is that they always look and retain their stylish appearance, open or closed.

The finer and lighter the curtain fabric the small the diameter of pole can be used. As the curtain fabric becomes heavier the larger the diameter of pole needs to be.

If you try and hang medium or heavy weight curtains from them, they will simply bend! Spoiling the whole sleek and streamlined appearance.
From a maintenance view eye-let curtains are so simple to take down launder or take to the cleaners-depending on the fabric, follow the manufacturers’ guidelines- and re-hang. They offer clean and modern lifestyles an easy, yet very effective, window dressing.
A range of both traditional and contemporary curtain pole finials can make a huge impact to the sense of cohesion to a room. Traditional wooden poles usually have wooden finials which can be a simple round shape or more elaborate carved designs such as acorns. Metal finials with wonderful twisted metal patterns offer a modern interior flair. The latest finial designs are made from glass which incorporate smokey swirls and bubbles of complimentary coloured glass to offer panache and a striking look.
For more traditional style interiors curtains which have an elegant 3 inch header are more in keeping with the overall appearance of a room. Current interior design trends typically have full length curtains-those which reach the floor. When windows are dressed only to the sill of the window the designers tend to use blinds rather than curtains, or use a combination of the two.
Old style grand interiors typically have beautiful full length curtains with coordinating or contrasting fabrics covered pelmets, swags and tails, elaborate goblet or pinch pleat headings. These heading variations are ideal for heavy weight curtain fabrics as they enable the fabric to retain the elegance of the pleating effects they offer.
Sweeping these styles of curtains back from the centre and keeping them in place with traditional tassel tie-backs adds to their flamboyance.
