Planning A Family Vacation To The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon has been an model location for family vacations since the American Interstate system transformed country wide driving. Whether you are driving the family across country or flying into Phoenix and renting a car it is important that your trip go as smoothly as possible. It is central that you coordinate ahead because the Grand Canyon is a celebrated vacation spot, and last minute accommodations may be very tough to come by; especially if you are traveling during the busy summer months.

Determining where to stay may come down to budget. many tourists select to stay at the Grand Canyon in one of the many hotels or lodges located within walking distance of the canyon. You can even camp out at the bottom of the canyon along the Colorado River. If staying in a tent isn’t your thing there is a lodge at the bottom of that you can stay in. There are many ways to visit and appreciate the Grand Canyon. You can charter a helicopter or plane to guide your sightseeing, take a hot air balloon over the canyon, or just hike the trails. If you pick to hike the canyon you may want to get a hiking guide. Hiking the canyon can be demanding for some, especially the hike back up, so you will want to prepare yourself physically before trying it.

If you have the budget to vacation in luxury instead of roughing it you will find that Northern Arizona is host to a lot amazing hotels with all the amenities. Some select to rent a luxury cabin or vacation house in Sedona and leave the Grand Canyon travel arrangements up to a tour company. Some of the most accepted tour companies in Sedona use Jeeps to drive guest to the canyon and explore the back roads of Arizona. This is a first-rate way to spend a day at the Grand Canyon! After a day of exploring the wilderness you can treat yourself to one of the many Sedona spas. Sedona is a vacation destination itself and if you are a luxury traveler you will find everything you need to be happy.

Staying in Flagstaff offers you all the accouterments of any contemporary city combines with small town charm. You can spend the night star gazing at Lowell Observatory, or the day learning at local museums. Flagstaff is only about an hour away from the Grand Canyon.

Williams is located on the old Route 66, and is the gateway the Grand Canyon. Williams host the depot to the Grand Canyon train, and many historical hotels. Williams is a beautiful town with many great restaurants and small shops.
